Florent Malouda

News that Lyon and French winger - Florent Malouda is current in talks with Liverpool on a 10 million pounds move to Anfield.

The 27 year old is who is currently with Lyon has 4 French league titles to his name and 28 caps for France along with 3 goals.

He was also named French Ligue 1 Player of the Year 2007

He rose to international prominence during last year's World Cup when, having been omitted from France's first group game, he impressed as an ever-present and won the penalty that enabled Zinedine Zidane to open the scoring against Italy in the final.

He is poised to take over the left wing and if Simao also makes his way to Liverpool. Rafa would have 2 of the world's best wingers on either flanks. This would supply a lot of firepower to Liverpool in their bid to challenge for the EPL which is long over due for a club with Liverpool's history..

Today marks the 22nd anniversary of the Heysel Stadium tragedy. 22 years ago on 1985 Liverpool and Juventus are to battle it out for the European Cup Final..

On this day, we saw the horror that unfolded before our eyes where 38 Italians and one Belgian who attended the match never made it home... Although Juventus won 1-0, the world of football has lost 39 souls...

Dudek and Fowler is leaving the club.. On the news are that Zenden, Gonzalez and Bellamy are on the way out too....

In my personal view, what Liverpool needs is a out-and-out striker. Someone who can convert the goals and chances like Ian Rush or Drogba... So far non has come the way of Liverpool.

Also needed are wingers, we can't let Stevie to start on the right where he is the most effective at central midfield. So far the wingers that Liverpool are great but not great enough. They could go for Lennon from Spurs or Simao from Benfica..

Defence they need to tighten up as the current defence needs more players to cover each other as in the case like Man U and Chelsea where they lost their central defenders and points are slipped up....

Most importantly their youths must be able to rise thru the ranks and break into the senior team....

In order to challenge for the title next season, they need to bring in quality players... Let's hope the new owners would keep to their promise of backing Rafa all the way...

Was up watching the match at 3am. With my cup of hot coffee and cheering them all the way.

The game was so tight. Possessions was there, the passing was flowing... Its just that the chances created was not materialize for Liverpool...

Well, they can give themselves a pat on the back as they have given their best for this season... Now its back to the boardroom with the new owners to see how they can move forward...

It's kind of sad to see the 1st pages of the newspapers saying how disappointing Liverpool are. But as true Liverpool fans.. They Will Never Walk Alone... I will still support my favourite team.
